Dear Maple Families and Guests,

Welcome to Maple School’s new website.  We are excited to enhance our communication with you in this format.  We have posted links to several sites that we hope will be of benefit to you as parents/guardians.  Please check them out under the Accountability tab and the Parents tab.  One of the links under the Accountability tab is a link to the State Department of Education’s website that gives information on the Reading Sufficiency Act.  This Act supports students in grades kindergarten through third grade.  The purpose of the Reading Sufficiency Act is to ensure that all Oklahoma students are reading on grade level at the end of third grade (a critical juncture when students go from learning to read to reading to learn). Legislation concerning the third grade retention laws is also included in the link as well as Parent Resources for Reading at Home.  Under this tab there are School-Home Links Reading Kits for each grade that provide research-based activities that reinforce the reading and language arts skills that your child is learning at school.  We also encourage you to read with your student.  Research has shown that twenty minutes of reading daily at home can make a tremendous difference in a student’s reading ability.

I tell people every day how fortunate and blessed I feel to be an administrator at Maple School.  I appreciate the parental support and participation that have always been a hallmark of our school.  Our students excel because we have excellent teachers and staff who truly care and have parents who are involved in the education of their children.  My door is always open if you have any suggestions, questions, or concerns.
